Literature Text

Oh sure, you may speak of power.
You may sit and judge upon your tower.
You have armies and you have legions.
You speak magic and you boast demons.

But I have power you cannot see.
If you want the world you go through me.
Because I know life and I know love.
And I trust both the raven and the dove.

But all your joy is the death of others.
You would kill all sisters and brothers.
You have spear and you have knife.
You could try to take all life.

But I stand within an invisible fortress.
And I fear not you nor your mistress.
For there is no sword that can forever break shield.
And though you kill me I do not yield.
I am told that I write a lot about war.
Perhaps that is simply my mindset or maybe it is my ever-struggle with my demons.

Regardless, I am trying to write more, so here is my first poem of the summer.

I had tried so hard to fight. I won for a while but, eventually I broke down and seen the demon smile.
Great poem, I agree with what people say about the flow, really well done.
